Web 2.0 do now 9/29/14

An editorial is an article or publication. What my teachers told me about Wikipedia is that it is mostly not true on what they say and it should not be trusted. Other teachers told me that I could use it for some topics that I can't find from other sites and to make sure that I really couldn't find it. My opinion for Wikipedia is that it's good and that if I really couldn't find what I was looking for I would use Wikipedia. In middle school, my teachers said to never use it.
With Wikipedia, I personally don't mind using it. I don't see anything wrong with it, unless you trust it to much. I don't trust Wikipedia all that well, since from my middle school teachers repeatively telling me to never use it. I fell like if people like my middle school teachers would trust Wikipedia more often. I feel like people could get there work done a lot faster, but still don't always trust it.
What I read from this editorial, has really change my opinion on Wikipedia. It really showed me that Wikipedia can really help people new to searching for information out. People from college and University's have even said that new time students have even loved it after using it for awhile. This editorial makes me want to use Wikipedia more often, but I'm still a bit nervous on using it. For everyone else, you may agree with me or may not agree with me, but I'm really still scared of using Wikipedia for research because of my middle school teachers telling me to never use it and it is wired into my brain, but maybe one day I will get used to using it again.

California OKs first tests of self-driving cars

California is a state for synonymous for cars and has now approved of the self-driving car. Audi and Goggle has both received an autonomous driving permit from California. Audi said that Europe and the U.S. were permitted to test the self-driving cars. Audi also said that California was the best place to test drive almost everything because of the Electronics Research lab is there. If anything I cant wait for a self-driving car, I can get pretty tired after awhile and I think you can all agree on that.

Web 2.0: Multimedia Blog Pre-Posting

One of the classes I am taking this year is Culinary Arts 1 and 2. The teacher is Ms. Olswick. She is very nice and kind and is willing to cook anything at anytime. She even lets us tell her some recipes that we would like to make. I asked to make a Bacon Tart (yes they are real). She said to bring in the recipe and i will eventually. She is the kind of teacher that would know what to do in any situation involving a kitchen.
What I expect to learn in this class is to cook and handle all appliances and to set a table properly, but that is only if I go to a fancy place to eat or if I work there. I also expect to learn how to use all technology related equipment, such as and oven and a microwave (I know, not many technology related equipment). I so far only learned how to make sugar cookies. Which, somehow, came out better than expected for my first time making sugar cookies from scratch. Her grading policy is 40% to cooking and test grades, and 10% to participation and homework. It's hard work doing all the things required to work in a kitchen.
What I am looking forward in this class is the field trips. Ms. Olswick says that the field trips we are going to, obviously, are gonna involve food. From what I heard about last year, some of the students went on a field trip and they got it all kinds of food and I can't wait for that. Mostly, I heard that there is a lot of pizza we get to try and who can resist pizza. I am very happy that I picked this class and I know that I can make a lot of foods that I would probably never eat, but will still try it.

Educational Technology and Copyright Law

What I learned from the article is that pictures are the easiest to get copied righted from and that it is hard to use some pictures in your presentations that you would love to use. Also, I learned that all the ideas that i could have may or may not be taken already, i wouldn't keep my hopes up though. I also learned that using some of the photos can help my grade, i just have to be careful on what pictures I am looking at.

Five million Gmail addresses and passwords dumped online

On the Googles, someone has gotten into 60% of peoples Gmails were taken from Gmail itself and were found as valid Gmail accounts. The chief of technology officer of CSIS, Peter Kruse, said that they are not sure if it was 60% of peoples Gmail accounts were taken. It could have been more than 60% or less than 60%. There researchers analyzed the data and found that it was up to 3 years based on correlations with past leaks. The CSIS found that at least 5 of the leaked accounts user names and passwords weren't used for log-in for Gmail or Google. The CSIS said that even if you don't have any of your passwords were used for Gmail, they are still saying that you should change your passwords on websites that use Gmail. If you wanna see if your account got leaked, they said that if you go to a website called isleaked.com and see if your account is leaked out on the internet.
